Pelvic floor support that looks at the whole picture

Leak when you cough, laugh, sneeze or jump?

Welcome to Your Pelvic Floor Healing Journey

REFLECT. RESET. RENEW.

Hi I’m Abby Lord, a pelvic floor and nervous system regulation specialist, and I’ve been where you are. I’m the only Senior Master Trainer in the UK, founder of Hypopressives Scotland and creator of The Abby Method. I am also a TRE®️ provider and a personal trainer.

Usually women find me at the end of a long and expensive journey. They’ve spent years battling to get care and to be heard. They’ve tried so many different methods from Physical Therapy to magic vibrating chairs. In that entire journey no one heard what they were saying, no one listened to their words, no one noticed their feelings.

Many women are made out to be hysterical or just imagining it. They feel completely defeated and broken. No questions were asked about stress, work to life balance, sleep. No one looked at their posture or even suggested that the way they breathe might also be a part of the picture. Keep doing your kegels they’re told or that surgery will be their only option.

Have you ever wondered why it is that your pelvic floor stays tense even when you are relaxing? Why you leak when you cough, sneeze, run? What if the real solution isn’t more kegels but to learn to breathe and let go, to return physical and core support stored deep in your tissues.

Grab your favourite drink, take a pew, and let me introduce you to The Abby Method and your journey back to pelvic health.

The Abby Method

When I discovered my prolapse, I felt lost.

The Abby Method is what I wish I’d had then, a tailored blend of Hypopressives, TRE®, release work, and gentle strength designed around you to support your pelvic floor, calm your nervous system, and help you find your way forward with confidence.

What is The Abby Method?

Let me show you how you have all the tools you need within you to feel better, stronger and more in touch with your body.

    Hypopressives

A gentle yet powerful whole-body method, Hypopressives combine breath work, postural awareness and purposeful movement to help you manage intra-abdominal and pelvic pressure more effectively.

They can improve symptoms such as stress incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and diastasis recti by improving how your breath, ribs, abdominal wall, posture and pelvic floor work together. Rather than trying to reduce pressure or lift pelvic organs, Hypopressives help the body generate, distribute and respond to pressure with greater coordination.

    And not a squeeze required

    TRE®️

TRE®(Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) empowers the body to tremor naturally, releasing old patterns of stress and tension for deep relaxation and recovery.

TRE®️ uses a series of gentle movements to naturally activate your body’s tremor mechanism, releasing deep tension and stored stress from your nervous system. It helps calm overactive patterns, rebalance your system, and restore a sense of safety and ease. This process can ease symptoms linked to pelvic floor dysfunction, chronic pain, fatigue, and emotional stress. TRE®️ reconnects your body and mind, enhances resilience, and allows you to reset, without force, effort, or needing to relive past experiences.

    Personal Training

Personal training with me is built around your body, your goals and the way you want to move in everyday life.

Each programme combines functional strength, mobility, breath, posture and purposeful movement, with progressions that feel supportive but still challenge you. We look at how your whole body shares load, including your feet, hips, spine, ribs, abdominal wall and pelvic floor, rather than treating one area in isolation.

The aim is to help you feel stronger, more resilient and more confident in your body, while improving movement quality, supporting pelvic floor health and building trust in what your body can do.

It is a whole-body approach to strength, movement and long-term confidence.

    Somatic Movement & Release

Somatic movement helps you notice patterns of tension, holding and protection that may be influencing how you breathe and move.

Through gentle, mindful explorations, you begin to create more choice, improve body awareness and restore a greater sense of ease through your joints and tissues. This can support nervous system regulation, reduce unnecessary gripping and help your pelvic floor work as part of the whole body rather than in isolation.

The aim is not to force release, but to help your body feel safe enough to soften, adapt and move with greater freedom.

My Journey and Expertise

Over the last decade, I have gained immense knowledge about our bodies and how the pelvic floor interacts with emotions, stress, environment, sleep, and diet. As the only Senior Master Trainer in the UK and one of the most experienced trainers worldwide, I have also had the joy and privilege to train many of the English speaking trainers both here across the UK and globally.

There were no schools of Hypopressives for me to train locally, so, I travelled to Spain to learn, overcoming my fear of flying. The impact Hypopressives had on me was so profound that I had to learn to coach it and help others. In 2019 together with other Master Trainers from across the world, we founded the International Hypopressive Council to bring expertise to your local area.

A little more about Hypopressives

Did you know your pelvic floor can engage without a single squeeze?

Hypopressives are an amazing holistic way to improve pelvic floor symptoms and health.

They encourage better resting tone and strength in your pelvic floor and your entire body. Relieving symptoms such as - stress & urge incontinence, bladder prolapse, uterine prolapse, rectocele, diastasis recti and so much more.

They enhance sports stamina improving CO2 tolerance, and create a sense of calm. It's the best of both worlds: exercise and meditation.

Hypopressives will give you the freedom to enjoy life without limits, reduce symptoms, and offer so much more.

“Devoted teacher, incredible results within first week. No more getting up in the night to use the bathroom! Excellent. Highly recommend all her online classes. And as a teacher she is so relateable.”

The Importance of Breathing

Breathing is a key component of pelvic floor health. Throughout life, we develop posture and breath imbalances -from carrying bags, sitting at desks, to carrying babies. These imbalances, coupled with trauma from birth or intense physical exercise, can lead to pelvic floor dysfunction, prolapse, leaks, sore backs, and even painful sex. Your pelvic floor, at the center of your body, helps regulate everything. When it can't keep up, you experience these symptoms.

If you feel any of the following symptoms frequently or after exercise:

  • A heavy, dragging feeling

  • A sensation like a tampon falling out

  • A visible lump

  • Leaking

  • Pain

Pause any activities that exacerbate these symptoms. This is a red flag signaling the need to build strong, flexible foundations, which is where Hypopressives come in. They are a low-impact, breath-led program combining specific breath patterns with poses to engage and mobilize muscles and connective tissues. This helps your pelvic floor function as a natural reflex, supported by your entire body.

I really enjoy the online classes taught by Abby who is extremely knowledgeable and so good at explaining and describing the moves and their purpose as you are being taken through them. Lovely informal, friendly vibe. Always the opportunity to ask questions at the end of sessions too.
